Basil Simple Syrup
- Measure the water and sugar into a microwavable container; I use my glass measuring cup. Microwave for about four minutes, or until the sugar is dissolved completely (you may need to stir a little for the last bit to dissolve).

- Add the fresh basil leaves to your hot simple syrup and blend it using an immersion blender. If you don't have an immersion blender try chopping the basil and mixing it in.

- Allow the basil to steep for 5-20 minutes depending on how strong of a flavor you would like. Pour the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a container. Store in the refrigerator for a few weeks to a month.

Basil Limeade
- Mix all of the ingredients together, along with the frozen strawberries if you are using them, and stir together with some ice cubes. Add the garnishes of your choice and enjoy!
